We were appointed by Northern to carry out a multi-million-pound upgrade of Bolton Railway Station as part of their Station Improvement Fund.

We were the main contractor on this rail project, and we were responsible for the design and build of the new waiting rooms, installing new DDA compliant toilets on each platform, updating onsite staff accommodation, and installing easy to use customer information points around the main concourse.
We also carried out as part of the multi-million-pound upgrade, the replacement roof works for the entire mainline station.
Bolton Station is an important interchange station for the north of the country, so these works were hugely important for the railway infrastructure across the north of the UK. We worked closely with our client Northern Rail and Network Rail throughout the project, bringing it in on time and budget.
