Approach

We were employed by First Group to install new standard male and female toilets for customers as well as installing a unisex ‘Changing Place’ facility equipped to cater for customers with disabilities, which included the installation of a hoist, shower, adjustable toilet and basin and changing table.

In addition to the WC facilities and changing rooms, we also installed a new customer waiting shelter on Platform 1, at the Manchester end of the platform to provide protection from the elements for customers waiting to board services towards Leeds.

The Impact it’s made

This project had its challenges as works were carried out at a live station throughout commuter times, we completed the project on time and without any noticeable impact of the station’s customers or staff.
