Hattersley station serves over 110,000 commuters every year and is a key station in the networks of railways across the North West. Our scope of works in this project included the removal of the current ticket office and a complete design and rebuild (including and extension to the existing building's footprint). An accessible toilet for all has also been installed, as well as staff accommodation and a brand new comms systems through out the station.
There is future scope for commuters to use the community facilities created behind the station, as well as an option for a retail offering to be on site as well. As an addition to the overall project we also installed a tool shed as a gift to the local 'Friends of Hattersley Station' to help them to continue to maintain the surrounding grounds and gardens.
The new station is now ready to welcome even more passengers n the coming years. We worked closely with Northern Rail on this project and we demonstrated the importance of partnership working to ensure the finished project is of the highest standards and completed on time and budget.
We're really happy to be working on this project with TMT - they have done an excellent job across the site and we're really delighted with the end product - it really is a legacy to be proud of.
